Under the Volcano

The Volcano, a cozy, eccentric bar in Rice Village, takes its name
from the macabre 1947 novel Under the Volcano by Malcolm Lowry. The
menu offers a few sandwiches and bar snacks, as well as a long list
of excellent draft beers by the pint and a blackboard wine list with
some impressive specials. Don’t miss the “steak night” special on
Monday nights, when a 16-ounce USDA Choice ribeye with tossed salad
and mashed potatoes is a bargain.
