Balaclavas turn their recordings into fits of rage. Onstage, the local threesome takes its tribal post-punk into a maddening frenzy of howls, distortion and feedback. Album tracks are twisted into barely recognizable versions before listeners ears, and the new product is even more adventurous. Fans of At The Drive In or fellow locals Indian Jewelry will definitely latch onto the sound of these dark rockers (and many already have) both on and off the stage. But those who want to hear the more refined studio version better move quickly Balaclavas latest record, Inferno, was a limited-edition release. Grab it today when the group plays on a more-stuffed-than-your-mommas-Thanksgiving-turkey bill including fellow Texans Guitars and // Tense// as well as Marylands Wilderness, New Yorks Fertile Crescent and Massachusettss San Serac. 8 p.m. The Mink/Backroom, 3718 Main.
